Glorious sunshine greeted over 1,000 Bedworth children as they arrived at the historic Almshouses.

The weather was in stark contrast to that of 2018 when the event was held in three separate School halls because of heavy rain.

Guests, residents, Trustees, parents and members of the public gathered in the Quadrangle for a service of prayers and songs conducted by the Rev. Dave Poultney, Rector of All Saints Church, Bedworth with a talk given by Mrs. Kay Orton.

Among the guests were Rose Lady Daventry, Patron of the Nicholas Chamberlaine Trusts, Simon Miesegaes, High Sheriff of Warwickshire, Mrs. Clare Sawdon former High Sheriff, Mrs. June Tandy  newly elected Mayor of Nuneaton and Bedworth, Deputy Mayor Councillor Bill Hancox, and Craig Tracey Member of Parliament.

Fruit buns were distributed to the children and also to members of the public. Our photographs, courtesy of John Burton, help to tell the story of a very happy event.
